This is really interesting as a case study into incorporating realistic levels of detail to a piece with more exaggerated proportions and expression without crossing over into the uncanny valley. Really good job striking that balance!

I always thought the Gen 1 Fossil sprites looked way too good to be Gen 1. Well done matching that style in the smaller sprite, and the large one has a ton of awesome little details going on.
